Getting Around To All The Stuff (2014 'Suggestions')

In my search for new blogs last night (being the newbie that I am), one thing stood out amongst everything else, the last posts: The New Years post.

The two most popular posts were:
a). People giving their goals and resolutions that they're hoping to get to in 2014, and
b). People reflecting on their past years, accompanied with photo montages or highlight-of-the-month lists.

After reading about my 5th New Years post, I started thinking, "What do I want to accomplish this year?" Immediately, I started remembering the ones that I had just read or the generic "go to the gym more" (still a solid goal), but I also wanted to think of ones specific to myself as well!

After all, what's New Year's without a tiny bit of reflection, if only to move forward and learn from the past ... or something like that! :)

Ready for an awesome year with my:
14 New Years "Suggestions"!

--------------

1. Read more (than just magazines)

2. Write more (than just text messages)

3. Seriously start the job search (and find a job somewhere I love being and somewhere I can make a difference)

4. Learn how to cook more things (a pretty important one - future independence in some way depends on it)

5. Keep finding ways to volunteer (because it gives you a special kind of happiness not many other things can - being able to help others)

6. Find new music (Listening to a radio station based in another country has already started to help with this one late 2013 - Thanks BBCR1)

7. Try & write one thing I've done everyday on my calendar (A great way to remember things when you have a bad memory & would be fun to read back every once and awhile)

8. Wake up early (more often)

9. Be ON. TIME. (Everybody likes that)

10. Ride my horse more often (because I love him and look at that little face)

11. Go to the gym (somewhat consistently)

12. Keep meeting new people! (I'm hoping that even though I've graduated school and won't be around masses of people all the same age on a daily basis anymore, I'll still put myself out there to meet new people, even if it is a little bit harder, geographically)

13. Take in the moment (and not just from behind a camera lens! 2013 seemed, for a lot of people, to be the year of the picture - but don't forget to be in the moment, so when you do look back at those pictures, you can say you were really there to experience it all :)! )

And the final one, and reason for many of these ideas...

14. Stop putting things off as much!! :)

--------------

2013 was a super busy year and I feel like I was able to accomplish a lot of what I wanted to, but I'm really excited to see what 2014 has in store for everyone!
I think I'm going to call 2014 the year of new beginnings, hard work, and memory-making :)!

Good luck to everyone with their resolutions!! (And if you need a restart already, don't worry, January 2nd is a good day too ;) )

    1. Oooo good luck!! I think I'm going to try for 3 as well! I really like those group fitness classes right now in particular instead of the open weight room since I don't 100% know what I'm doing in there yet haha lots of options though when you go that often! :)
